Raised on the High Plains, Lewis Abraham represents the fifth generation of Abrahams to call Hemphill County home. A descendent of pioneer cattleman WW Lewis and immigrant businessman Nahim (Malouf) Abraham, Lewis’s family has been an integral part of the Texas Panhandle since the 1880s.
Lewis was raised on his family’s legacy ranch near Canadian, Texas, and has worked alongside his father since he was old enough to sit a saddle. It was there he learned to appreciate rich landscapes and the bounty they sustain. A true outdoorsman, Lewis enjoys the native wildlife of the ranch as much as he enjoys the cattle.
Currently, Lewis lives on the Mendota Ranch as a partner in the Abraham family cow/calf operation. When he’s not tending cattle, Lewis enjoys hunting whitetail, mule deer, and dove and participates in shooting competitions regularly with his father. He also raises American Quarter Horses.
Ranching on the same land for more than 135 years, Lewis has experienced the benefits of mindful stewardship, and personally understands the necessity of land management and preservation for future generations. Lewis is prepared to leverage his knowledge and experience for sellers and buyers eager to steward the transfer of their land, or to begin their own personal land legacy.
