With its beautiful ranch properties, rolling hills and hardy pine forests, Texas is an ideal place to buy land.

But finding the perfect property is just the beginning of the land buying process. In order to know how to buy land in Texas, there are a number of state-specific trends and regulations to understand.

What does rural land in Texas typically cost?

It's wise to keep in mind that land values can vary vastly depending on features of the specific property you're considering, such as location, access, special amenities and natural features. Texas has been kicked out of the number 1 spot on U-Haul’s annual growth report for the first time since 2015.

Since 2015, Texas has been sitting in the no. 1 spot on U-Haul’s annual Growth State Report. They take this measurement by analyzing the amount of U-Haul trucks that leave and enter each state in the US (excluding Hawaii) each year. The beginning of 2020 shows a promising outlook for the U.S. housing market.

Within the span of 7 years (2012 to 2019) 5.9 million homes were built within the United States. During that same time period, over 9.8 million new households were formed within the US.

Although some of these households have been able to purchase homes from families moving out of the US or from unoccupied homes, there is still a rather significant deficit between the number of homes built and the number of people needing homes within America.

Explaining The U.S. Housing Deficit

Why is the housing deficit so large though?

As expected, the main culprit seems to be the great recession in 2008. In the years leading up to the market crash, loans were being granted to…

This is a short guide that will help you get started on fencing your Texas property:

Selecting the Right Fence

With so many options, it’s hard to know which type of fencing is the best for you. When selecting the right fence, you need to consider several different factors, including its purpose, cost, and upkeep, just to name a few.
